Duke Urology has a full research year, with amazing research opportunities. Duke also has a large referral network serving complex patients and has fellowship training programs which bring diverse perspectives to the team with new fellows each year.
What advice do you have for incoming interns?
Don't expect to know everything at first, you're going to learn new things every day and that's one of the most exciting things about being an intern. You don't need to know everything to be successful as an intern, it's more important to communicate well, follow through on your tasks, and stay organized.
What do you like best about living in Durham and the Triangle?
The area is gorgeous and has lots of hiking nearby. The mountains are a couple hours away and the ocean is a couple hours in the other direction. There's plenty to do for a busy resident but not too much traffic.
What do you like to do outside of Duke?
I enjoy hiking, lifting weights, and spending time with my girlfriend and dog.
