Duke Surgery Ranks 2nd Among Surgery Programs at Medical Schools

The U.S. News & World Report has ranked the Duke University School of Medicine 2nd in surgery among the best medical schools in the country. This 2nd place ranking is up considerably from the department’s 5th place ranking last year. This national distinction speaks to the department’s deep commitment to pioneer surgical training for the next generation of surgeons.

Of 120 medical schools, the Duke University School of Medicine ranked among the best, placing it 13th in a tie with the University of Pittsburgh and Yale University. Rankings are based on reputation and statistical data regarding the quality of the school’s research, faculty, and students.
